A Taco Bell in Northern Colorado is Now Closed
Many fast food chains have been closing locations over the last few years. Colorado is not immune, as it has seen its fair share close as well. Some chains have closed select locations, and others have closed shop and entirely moved out of certain areas. Most of these closures are planned, thought out, and strategically selected. Then some are forced to close and lock their doors overnight, it seems. One Taco Bell in Northern Colorado has closed recently, and the reason is a little surprising.
Taco Bell in Berthoud Closed

The Taco Bell located at 1279 Grand Market Avenue in Berthoud is temporarily closed, but it wasn't by choice. If you drive by the location, you will notice that the parking lot is oddly empty during what would usually be busy hours during the day. If you approach the store, you will find two signs on the door. One notifies those attempting to come in that the location is temporarily closed and that customers can enjoy other locations in Loveland or Longmont. Another sign notifies customers that the store was forced to be evacuated by the city of Berthoud because the structure was unsafe due to significant, life-threatening violations. This should not come as too much of a surprise, as the McDonald's next door has been closed for months due to similar reasons.
Unsafe Structures in Berthoud

With Taco Bell and McDonald's having been forced to evacuate the area, questions are now raised about what this means for the other stores in the area, and even the new homes being built nearby. If you read through the sign above, you will notice that it mentions the premises being deemed to have hazardous conditions that pose an imminent danger to premises occupants. Some of the violations include unsafe sidewalks and driveways, the structure, exterior walls, and general egress. The store is to remain closed until further notice.
