He's Ted Nelson. Everybody knows Ted! Maybe you've just moved to the area and made his acquaintance. Maybe you grew up in Montrose and never knew a time when Ted wasn't around. Whatever the case might be, he's a local treasure and his 'Ted Nelson's Steakhouse' is known by one and all.

Now, if you visit him on Rose Lane and ask him about the history-his history-he'll be more than happy to pull up a chair and tell you all about it. Yes, he's been on Rose Lane, since 2012, but you might remember when he owned the former Red Barn on East Main Street for 17 years. He worked there for 22. He bought the place back in 1975 and ran it until 1992. His need for 'something new' led him to sell it and he left the area.

Ted as always, with adventure in his heart. He went to the Bahamas, Thailand, and all over. He would build and sell houses, run a Casino, and just live on his terms, having fun! Well, local Montrose missed him so much that friends and family kept on him to come back to town and open his own place again. Well, he did, of course, and the local favorite of Ted's Steakhouse has been open since 2012. It's not open many hours mind you, just 4 to 8 p.m. or 4 to 8:30 p.m., depending on what time of year it is. Stop in and say 'hi'. Ted's always got a smile on his face and delicious food for you, your friends, and your family to enjoy!
