Hundreds of artists endured the cold/rainy weather on Saturday, September 10, 2022, for the annual Pastels on 5th event. Take a look at some of their great work.

Over 150 professional, amateur, and student artists participated in the 2022 event, which raised funds for Alternatives to Violence. This event captures what Loveland is known for: Art and caring for its community members.

This mural with these two using their umbrellas could be used to describe Pastels on 5th for 2022: Kind of rainy, a little chilly. The weather didn't deter the artists that were there to create art on the sidewalks along 5th Street in Downtown Loveland.

It's perfect that the event takes place near the Loveland Museum (which is one of the partners of the event), as over 100 pieces of art were created in just one day, where 5th Street became a "gallery."

With so many artists, you're bound to get a very wide variety of creations. There were animals, children, abstracts, landscapes and a lot more. There were several that included Loveland within them: One of the keyhole at Devil's Backbone, for example. It's fun to see the artists' individualities shine through to help the one cause.

"Pastels on 5th" had three juried winners, while they also took votes for the "People's Choice." The voting was another way to raise funds for the cause, as each vote cost $1, whether on-site or online (the online voting was set to conclude on Sunday, September 18).

Take a look at 25 of the murals from 2022 - including the top three juried winners:
