5 Strange Laws in Colorado
We've spoken before about a few of the strange laws here in Colorado, including the fact that you can't throw snowballs in Aspen. That was a few months ago, and in service of an article on strange Colorado facts, but I've since been wondering: what other odd legal precedence has been set in our state? Of course, that means it's time to fire up the Google machine.
We're going to take a look, now, at some more strange rules governing life in the Centennial State. Luckily, we don't have anything extraordinarily weird to worry about, like they do in some other states (looking at you, Alabama). Still, there are plenty of odd laws that are on the books right now, and we're going to highlight a few of them.
If you come across any strange Colorado laws that we might have missed, make sure you let us know. It's easy to do with the mobile app. Oddly enough, there's a link for said app, above. It's almost like it was planned that way...
It is illegal to buy a car on Sunday in Colorado.
You know what? I'm ok with this. Everybody deserves at least one day off, even car dealers. Why not Sunday?
In Logan County, it's illegal to kiss a sleeping woman.
We'll file this one under: Good Intentions, but Did We Really Need to Write That One Down? Probably not a good idea to surprise your wife with romance on a Sunday morning.
In Boulder, it is illegal to drink while operating a horse.
Horses are classified as "non-motorized vehicles," after all...
It is legal in Boulder to taunt a police officer, until they ask you not to.
It's nice to see a law that promotes polite dialogue.
In Pueblo, weeds (including dandelions) may not be taller than 10 feet.
Except for a gag, why would you even want dandelions that tall?
