Different Names Coloradans Use for Their Grandparents

My sister and I were lucky to have multiple sets of grandparents. Not only did we have our biological grandparents, but we also had step-grandparents and adopted grandparents, too. My girls have been lucky to have adopted grandparents too.

What do the people of Colorado call their grandparents?

I posed that question to some of the locals, here in Montrose. While Grandpa and Grandma came in near the top, I really liked some of the other results too.

Some I had heard of before. I had a Granny, but she didn't really like being called that. She preferred to be called Grandmother instead.

I think I’d like to be called Bee-Bee if I become a grandma.
