If you've ever visited any place with elevation, you may have felt light-headed.

Elevation has its issues. The first time I visited the mile-high city of Denver it hit me all at once. Water is the key, I'm bad about drinking enough.

Here are a few spots on the Western slope with that elevation:

Montrose 5807', Telluride 8750, Delta 4875', Gunnison 7703' and Grand Junction 4583'.

A good rule of thumb is to drink half your body weight. For example, if you weigh 200, drink 100 ounces. Now if it's extremely hot that day more is better.

Enjoy you time on the Western Slope, pack your water jug!
