You Can Make Crazy-Good Money Sorting Trash in Telluride
Regardless of how the economy is doing at any particular time, there will always be people searching the internet for jobs so long as there are people and jobs. Colorado is no different, with plenty of Coloradans scouring the internet in search of gainful employment.
Well, if you're willing to get your hands dirty, I've got an opportunity that you should know about. It looks like they're looking for people to sort trash in the city of Telluride, and they're offering good money for it, too. The best part? It's all in the name of science!

Per the Colorado Sun (beware potential paywall), the United States Environmental Protection Agency is offering as much as $30 per hour to those willing to sort through the city's trash. It's all part of a social science study to determine some of the most thrown-away items by tourists at resorts in Colorado. The goal, as with most studies from the EPA, is to reduce the total amount of waste produced.
This is actually phase two of a research program that began back in 2019. That first round of sorting was done at entirely different resorts than they are posting jobs for this time, as now they are looking to examine the garbage at the Franz Klammer and Manitou Lodges.
Again, they're offering as much as thirty dollars per hour for you to do this. That's more money than I make, and I'm on the radio! So you've gotta sort trash? Who cares? For that kind of money, you can pour a bucket of trash on my head to determine the effects of a trash shower, or whatever dubious science you need to write down to get the research grant. Seriously, if you're in the area and you pass this up, I don't ever want to hear you complaining about jobs, again.
