I don't know about you, but winter has finally winded down. It's time to plan overnight trips or vacations. Just a weekend away can recharge your batteries.

Have you ever stayed in a Yurt?

I can't say I have, but I've heard a lot about them over the last few years living in Colorado.

What is a Yurt?

It's a portable circular dwelling, a lot like a tent. You can assemble one in one to three hours. They are made of a lattice of flexible poles., and covered in fabric.

Where can I rent a Yurt?

There are many locations around Colorado. Ridgway has some and that's only 20 minutes from Montrose.

I'm quite fascinated with the concept of a yurt. They actually have been in central Asia for many years. I have not been much of a camping-in-a-tent type of person, but these look like tent homes. Most sleep five or more people. I have found many to be 700 or more square feet. You can check out Colorado Yurt Company at 28 West South 4th in Montrose.

If you have stayed in a yurt, I'd love to know about your experience. This is something I plan to try this summer.
