Little did he know that what seemed like what should have been a regular, uneventful pizza delivery would see him hailed as a lifesaver and a hero.

Anson Lemmer - The Colorado Pizza Man Who Saved a Life

January 15, 2015, began as a typical day answering phones and delivering pizzas for 19-year-old Anson Lemmer, but a delivery that day would change lives forever.

On his second day at his new job, Lemmer discovered one man lying in the middle of Valley View Road with multiple other men standing around him. It was at this point that Lemmer noticed the man turning blue and administered CPR on him, a skill that he learned from the Red Cross as a 12 or 13-year-old and had never actually used.

Luckily, his attempts were successful, and just as the man began to breathe again, EMTs from the Glenwood Springs Fire Department showed up and transported the man to nearby Valley View Hospital.

His employer had no idea what was going on and just assumed that Lemmer was running late or had gotten lost until he returned to Uncle Pizza headquarters and shared his story.

After his story became public knowledge, Lemmer was interviewed by TV news stations, where he recalled telling his parents the ordeal had turned him from a pizza boy into a "pizza man."
