Located at 240 14th Street in the heart of the Mile High City, the Populus is an incredibly eye-catching 13-story building as it was designed to replicate Colorado's signature Aspen trees with a sleek black-on-white exterior.

The Populus claims to be the first carbon-positive hotel in the state due to its use of renewable resources during construction, lower air conditioning costs compared to other hotels of its size, and pledges to plant trees and compost as a part of regular operation.

Ironically, the spot in downtown Denver in which the Populus Hotel was erected was also known for many years as the site of the first-ever gas station to open in Denver.
