Residents of Colorado, for the most part, are likely unaware of just how many abandoned properties exist in the state.

It's pretty widely accepted and common knowledge that there are numerous ghost towns in Colorado, but abandoned homes with origins ranging from the state's early days during the Pikes Peak Gold Rush all the way to modern times sit collecting dust throughout the Centennial State.

While many of these historic abandoned properties remain untouched for many years, some become plagued by graffiti, destructive vandalism, and even arson.

The home we're going to look at today was part of a sizeable abandoned piece of property just outside of the rural town of Bennett on Colorado's eastern plains and was, unfortunately, destroyed in a blaze of glory.

The property that serves as our subject today is located in a very rural area of eastern Colorado near the unremarkable and small town of Bennett.

The majority of instances in which the general public is treated to virtual tours of abandoned properties such as these are from self-identified "Urban Explorers," and this case is no different.

However, much to the dismay of the urban explorer YouTube channel known as Travelin’ Drew, it was not long after the channel explored this property that the team became privy to news that the main house had burned down.

Also, unfortunately, it appears that arson is suspected as the cause of the home's demise. However, the YouTubers returned to the home to produce a sequel to their original exploration, this time documenting the charred remains of the property.
