If these Walls Could Talk: Colorado’s Iconic A-Frame Lounge

What Was Colorado's A-Frame Lounge?

The year 1964 saw the completion of a large building at 8801 Interstate 76 Frontage Road in Henderson, Colorado that undoubtedly caught the eye of anyone passing by.

The building consisted of 5,280 square feet, a number shared with the elevation of Denver, and featured a large, steep, a-frame along with extended buildings on either side.

Over the years, this spot was home to an auto mechanic shop, a gas station, a restaurant, a cafe, and even a gentlemen's club throughout its decades-long existence.

However, the building has been sitting vacant for some time, as evidenced by its deterioration as well as the retro gas prices still displayed on the sign where the gas station once was, and now many believe that it will be torn down altogether.

As you'll see below, the boarded-up and abandoned property is currently surrounded by a large chain-link fence, but it was just a few years ago that a glimmer of hope for the building presented itself.

Back in 2019, the property that contains the now-defunct A-Frame Lounge was listed for sale. The entire property carried a price tag of a reported $1 million, but it doesn't appear as if it was purchased and subsequently, is likely headed for demolition.
