Aspen Rated Best for Fall Colors in Colorado
For many people here in Colorado, Aspen is a place where rich people from out of town go on vacation.
In fact, many of us were perplexed when it was rated by one publication as the best tourist attraction in the entire state.
However, there is something about Aspen that is absolutely undeniable; it’s natural beauty.
Obviously, it’s nestled snugly in the Rocky Mountains, so it’s going to be gorgeous at all times of the year, but Islands.com believes it’s at its best during fall.
They conducted a study to find which U.S. city has the best fall colors, and they rated Aspen as the 11th best in the country. This is mostly due to it having a large number of scenic hikes in the area.
You Only Have a Short Time to See Aspen’s Fall Colors
If you are planning to go check out the beautiful fall colors on the numerous hiking trails they have to offer, you don’t have long.
Not only will the foliage be at its peak for just 7 days, but it will supposedly start on September 27th and only last through October 3rd.
That means if you want to check it out, you’re going to need to plan a visit soon.
What City Has the Best Fall Colors in the Country?
Out of all the cities that were listed, the spot that ranks the highest out of them all is Asheville, North Carolina.
Not only does the peak foliage last a long time (12 days between October 23rd and November 3rd), but there are 3 different scenic roads you can drive down that are perfect to see the colors.
Plus, the large number of beautiful hiking trails they have to offer help out a lot too.
