New Study Finds the Best Colorado City for Coffee
If there’s one thing almost every adult needs to even be able to get through the day, it’s coffee.
The drink has been around since the mid-15th century, and we can thank the people in Yemen for coming up with it.
While many people simply brew it themselves in the morning, there’s plenty of awesome places where you can grab a cup of joe in the morning.
An up and coming chain that’s stationed here in Colorado called Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is expanding even more in the Centennial State, and it’s been getting rave reviews.
On the other hand, local places like Wolverine Farm Publick House not only has some of the best coffee around, but also pay people to read books.
With that being said, it’s worth asking: Just what Colorado city is the best for coffee fans?
That’s exactly what WalletHub set out to do.
Colorado Might Not Be the Best for Coffee Overall
Each year, WalletHub creates a study that looks at the 100 largest cities in America and sets out to find which city is the best for coffee.
To do so, they go through a massive list of criteria, like the amount of coffee shops with free wifi, the share of households with coffee makers, the share of adult coffee drinkers, and even the amount of donut shops per capita.
Once they compiled all of these statistics together, they give each city a final coffee score and rank them.
With that being said, it is sort of fair to say that in some aspects, Colorado may not be the best for coffee.
Colorado Springs comes in at 67th on the list, with a total score of 43.93. Interestingly, it also has the second highest average price for cappuccinos in the country as well.
Just eleven spots higher is Aurora at 56th, which they gave a score of 45.40. Strangely, cappuccinos in Aurora are the second cheapest in the entire country. Strange how that works out.
Denver is Ranked as the Best Coffee City in Colorado
With both Colorado Springs and Aurora ranking in the bottom half of the list, it’s up to Denver to try to bring up the average for Colorado.
In actuality, it ranks pretty high, but not as truly one of the elite coffee cities in the United States.
Denver comes in as the 21st best city for coffee, with a final score of 57.21. While it’s not the absolute best, at least we have a city that’s in the Top 25.
What is the Best and Worst City for Coffee?
If you’re looking to find the best city for coffee in the United States, you don’t need to look any further than Portland, Oregon.
It tops the list with a total score of 67.01, and is noted for having a huge coffee culture along with a ton of affordable coffee shops.
On the other hand, the worst city for coffee in the country is Laredo, Texas, which has an abysmal total score of 23.23.
