5 Mountain Peaks with the Silliest Names Around Colorado
When Colorado's Mount Evans was renamed Mount Blue Sky in September of 2023, many wondered if more peaks would be renamed. Some stood opposed to such practices, while others were quick to point out a few mountain peaks with odd names that might be considered next.

Located around the outskirts of the state are a handful of peaks whose names could be considered silly or strange, and if you have never seen or heard of them, it's ok to chuckle and snicker.
Naming Colorado's Mountains
Which Colorado mountains do you think are the most famous? Most of us would probably select some of the most prominent 14ers, although Grand Junction residents might consider the World's Largest Flattop Mountain worthy of such a title. If we are just talking about 14ers, it's hard to get more well-known than Mount Elbert, Maroon Peak, Pikes Peak, Longs Peak, Mount Blue Sky (Mount Evans), and Mount Sneffels.
Colorado's Christmas Mountain
Colorado's Christmas Mountain is known for most of the year as Tenderfoot Hill. The Chaffee County mountain stands at 7,572 feet and is home to Colorado's largest Christmas Tree since 1989. Each holiday season more than 4,500 LED bulbs bring holiday cheer to the residents below in the town of Salida.
