Were Coloradans Scammed Out of Money at Home Depot?
Nobody likes getting ripped off, especially by companies that have oodles of money. It turns out a lot of folks in Colorado may have felt the brunt of just such a thing with The Home Depot "pulling a fast one."
Though the company admits no wrongdoing, it'll be paying a hefty fine for shady shenanigans in its stores. We just want a place to find things for our homes, with friendly service; with all the people that go into Home Depot stores, this scam probably brought in a lot of extra cash.
When was the last time you were in a Home Depot? Did this happen while you were there?
Home Depot Settles 'False Advertising' Civil Lawsuit
Again, though Home Depot admitted no wrongdoing, Scripps News reports that it looks like its checkout scanners (in California, anyway) were ringing up a price that did not match the price advertised on the product or on the shelf.

A civil lawsuit in California against The Home Depot was settled for $1.7 million, with an additional $277,251 in costs and restitution. One California District Attorney in the case stated:
This settlement is a clear message that such behavior will not be tolerated and underscores our commitment to safeguarding the rights of consumers in our community.
While there's been no word on whether Colorado is also suing The Home Depot regarding these "overcharges," it would not be very surprising to find out it happened here, too.
