Imagine watching a package be delivered on your Ring doorbell cam, only to see someone come and scoop up the package seconds later - all while you were home and just a few feet away.

That's what happened to a man and woman in Eaton, where a porch pirate followed a FedEx delivery driver and once she dropped a package on the porch and left, he sprang into action and snatched it.

Making matters worse - inside the package was the couple's debit card, which the porch pirate then used to drain their bank accounts. They didn't order a new card - did the porch pirate do that that too? - because when it was delivered, he was right there waiting for it.

According to Landon Clement via Fox 31 Denver, the man whose card was stolen, the thief called the bank and impersonated him not only to activate the card, but to transfer money from the couple's savings accounts in order to be able to withdraw it from the checking account, some withdrawals up to $2,000 at at time.

In all the man ended up stealing more than $8,000 from the unsuspecting couple, only $2500 of which has been refunded by the bank. If you've ever had a debit card stolen, you know how painful a process it can be to get your money back.

Eaton Police say they have a few leads, mostly thanks to the Ring doorbell camera video provided to them by the homeowners. Until they identify and catch the man in the video, he's still on the loose in Northern Colorado.
