A place in Loveland gives people the opportunity to take advantage of aged-old therapy, dating back to 460 B.C. Of course, many forms of therapy date back thousands of years, but it's not often you hears of "salt cave therapy;" It's neat that there's one in this Colorado town.

I hadn't heard of this place In Loveland until a friend was posting about her and friends enjoying an afternoon session there. I looked them up to find out more, and they sound very interesting. They've recreated the natural conditions of an underground salt mine (using Himalayan salt)  on the west side of town- on 1st Street near Dotsero. I'm not sure how long they've been open, but word is getting out; my friend who visited them lives in Greeley.

Apparently, using salt cave conditions is known as Halotherapy: a spa treatment where people breather in tiny salt particles. Mon Ami Salt Cave & Spa in Loveland uses their cave to treat/improve respiratory, skin, and immune system conditions. Again, I'd never heard of it, but even Hippocrates recommended it back in 460 B.C.; we all know Hippocrates was the father of modern medicine, so it's worth opening your (my) mind to.

Like I said, my friend visited with a few of her friends; you can book a session for up to eight people. You can just sit and relax and take in the Halotherapy, meditate or even take a little nap. I think it would be great to nap while getting dry-salt benefits. I may have to try that.
