People all over Colorado love all sorts of games and adventures. Here comes a treasure hunt that puts those two things together, with a man from Fort Collins claiming victory.

Forget about sitting around the table putting together a 1,000-piece puzzle; get ready for a real puzzle that could lead you to the next big prize.

Do you have the tenacity that this man and his family had to track down the clues and find the "treasure?"

Not only did the man win a big prize, he was given even more money to "pay it forward."

This is one of those things that I wish I would have heard about, sooner; not that I would have found the treasure, but.. you never know.

Fort Collins Man Finds Hidden Lamp to Win $200,000

At first, I thought this was a story about a guy who found an old lamp that later appraised to be worth $200,000. That was not the case, at all. This man had taken the clues given, and through persistence and cleverness, and was the first to find what had been purposely hidden away.

According to OutThereColorado.com and FOX 21, Fernie Martinez signed up with TreaureGame$ (at $8.99/month) to take part in a treasure hunt to find a hidden lamp, somewhere within a four-state region: Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma.

Martinez, who lives in Fort Collins, definitely got lucky in not having to travel too far to find the lamp. He and his daughters discerned from the clues (after several attempts at it) that the lamp was behind a restaurant in Colorado Springs.

Next thing you know, they find the lamp and win $200,000. The family was also given $10,000 to give to the charities/groups of their choice.

The first treasure hunt put on by the company awarded $1.2 million worth of wishes to the winner, a man from New Mexico. Treasure Game$ hopes to bring hunts to the entire world, donating a portion of the profits to charity. I wonder how many people (at $90/year) are enrolled, at this point?

They currently have a hunt going on in the four-state region of Florida, Georgi, Northern Carolina and South Carolina that is worth a whopping $1.2 million. That kind of money is definitely worth a $90/year subscription fee.
