Colorado State Football Tried And Failed at Fake Field Goal
This past Saturday night, your Colorado State University Rams lost their first game of the 2025 football season, not because of a bizarre trick play while trailing by 10 points in the 4th quarter... but it surely didn't help.
The internet didn't take too kindly to the miserable attempt at a fake field goal that ultimately led to the Rams' backup quarterback being sacked for a huge loss on a play that seemed doomed from the start.

With the Rams only trailing by 10 early in the 4th, backup QB Tahj Bullock trotted out on the field as the holder for what would have been a 50-yard field goal attempt. All seemed normal - except - Bullock isn't the team's usual holder, something both the announcers and the defense spotted right away.
As expected, the offense reset for a pass play before the ball was snapped, and when it was, the Huskies overwhelmed the left side of the offensive line and sacked Bullock for a huge loss. It was so bad it's almost like Bullock is blind in his left eye and never even saw them coming. Pretty bizarre to say the least.
The Rams ultimately lost their opener to Washington 38-21, leaving CSU fans wondering "why?"
Elsewhere in college football, if you're less about Fort Collins and more about Boulder, ole Coach Prime didn't fare much better as the University of Colorado dropped their opener 27-20 at home against Georgia Tech.

But no head coach had a worse weekend than our old friend Bill Belichick - formerly of the dreaded New England Patriots - who made headlines this year as he took the University of North Carolina head coach job. His debut as a college coach started out pretty great - with a determined opening drive and touchdown leading some to declare he was going to kill it at UNC.
Then they pretty much imploded and ended up losing the game 48-14 to TCU. Not exactly what you'd expect from the "greatest football coach of all time."
