A little Colorado cafe that has been around since 1990, resides in the terminal of the Greeley-Weld County Airport. It's fun too watch the planes come and go, while you enjoy a great breakfast or lunch.

What is the Cafe at the Greeley-Weld County Airport?

Captains Table was known as Barnstormer from 1990 until new ownership took over the spot. that serves breakfast and lunch daily, in 2025. A former employee who'd worked at the cafe for a longtime bought the cafe when the previous owners were ready to "fly," so to speak.

It reminds me of how Panhandler's in Fort Collins was going to close for good, when a former employee bought and reopened the restaurant across town. It's always nice to keep a long-running restaurant in the family, even if it's not "blood relative" family.

Being at the airport, of course Captains Table is all about planes and aviation. Maps adorn some of the tables, propellers adorn the walls, and you can not only watch planes come and go when you look out the windows, but the also have closed circuit broadcasts of airports on the TVs.

Things Could Get Very Busy for the Little Cafe

The Greeley-Weld County Airport, which first opened in 1921 a little south of its current location, was in the news in the spring of 2026; the airport at that time was constructing a new hangar, was awarded $3.5 million to add more taxiways, was expanding to take on larger planes, and was part of a bill in Congress that, if passed and signed by the President, would see the airport getting a physical tower.
