Loveland Teen Transforms Home Into ‘Stranger Things’ Upside Down Display

You don't have to travel too far if you want to visit the Upside Down. One crafty teen was able to bring the Netflix show 'Stranger Things' to life, right in Loveland.

I was scrolling through Facebook the other day, when I saw someone post about their holiday display dedicated to the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana.

When and Where to See the Upside Down in Loveland

As soon as the clock strikes 5:30 PM at 484 Deer Creek Court in Loveland, you'll hear the ominous ticking of Vecna's clock.

The sound happens just as the entire front yard of this home transforms into a slice of the Upside Down.

Meet Jared: The Loveland Teen Behind the Display

This massive display came from the mind of a teen in Loveland named Jared.

The 14-year-old wanted to incorporate something from each season of the show. Initially, Jared and his family planned to put this up for Halloween, but with the show coming out over the holidays, they decided to let it rock throughout the Yuletide season.

"After Halloween, with all of the attention it started getting and realizing how many fans were coming to check it out," the Loveland teen said.

"...we decided to keep it up through the New Year and add to it."

DIY Stranger Things Creations Built by Hand

This wasn't an easy project to undertake. With the help of Jared's family, the 14-year-old was able to bring to life key moments from the first four seasons.

The display includes the Byer's alphabet wall, the Mind Flayer, a Demogorgon, and the iconic scene with Max floating above Billy's grave.

And they didn't just drop by Party City to grab these displays, most of the creatures and displays are hand made.

Jared said it took two to three hours of work a day for a week to construct the Demogorgon.

As he walked me through how he built some of the most challenging pieces of his mini Upside Down, I couldn’t help but ask if he wanted to create things like this when he grows up.

I figured he’d say he wanted to work in practical or special effects for movies or TV, or maybe become an engineer who designs complex builds.

Turns out, he wants to be a pilot!

How Long You'll Be Able to See the Stranger Things House In Loveland

You can check out the full display through the holidays. The family confirmed that they plan to keep this little piece of Hawkins up through the New Year.

It will run in the evenings from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM.
