At the end of 2025, news broke that High Deserts Chocolate, an artisan chocolate shop would be moving into the vacant spot left by Windsor Lake Coffee.

Windsor Lake Coffee Will Reopen Across the Street in 2026

Luckily, the popular coffee establishment will be reopening sometime in 2026, right across the street from its old location at 430 Main Street.

Windsor’s New Chocolate Shop Already Drawing a Crowd

Over the weekend, I was finishing up a lunch with my friends in Downtown Windsor when I noticed some hubbub by the building. I took a quick peak inside and saw that HDC was finally open.

Without even thinking, I strolled inside.

For a business that had probably opened that day or the day before, they already had a decent amount of people in the store.

What You Can Order at High Desert Chocolate in Windsor

High Desert Chocolate offers artisan chocolate, ice cream, and my personal favorite cheat day treat: candied apples.

Their menu offers coffee, chocolate, wine & chocolate pairings, pastries, sandwiches, breakfast burritos, hot chocolate, Italian sodas, and fondue options.

What really caught my eye when I was perusing the display case filled to the brim with chocolate, were these cite little turtles.

They weren't real turtles, they were these intricate chocolate treats with gorgeously colored shells.

While they looked delicious, they almost looked too pretty to eat.

This new Windsor location will host in house events, create massive chocolate towers, and craft logo cookies for businesses.
