I'm not writing this story because I want to be a stick in the mud! My goal here is to make sure you don't have to pay hundreds of dollars in fines to the city of Fort Collins this summer.

Fort Collins Fireworks Policy: All Fireworks Are Illegal

Law enforcement are reminding residents of Fort Collins about the city's fireworks policy. In a social media statement on Wednesday, June 18th, the Fort Collins Police Service stated that ALL fireworks are illegal.

This includes sparklers and snake fireworks.

Fort Collins Enforces Heavy Fireworks Fines — Up to $1,000

In the weeks leading up to the 4th of July, city police will be on "concentrated fireworks patrol." If you are caught with fireworks within city limits, you will probably have to pay a pretty hefty fine.

Anyone in Fort Collins who is found to be in possession of, storing, or using fireworks could be stuck with a $1,000 fine.

You can still get your fill of fireworks this Independence Day in Fort Collins!
On the 4th of of July, the city will be throwing an Independence Day Celebration. Fireworks are expected to go off at approximately 9:35 PM over Sheldon Lake at City Park.
