Are you a CSU student or the parent of a CSU student? Will you be in town for Homecoming and family weekend?

If you haven't seen your loved one in weeks, maybe even months, the excitement is real. And then the movie moment happens, and you hug and maybe cry a little.

But what about the other 47 hours while in town?

How bout I give you some activity options for when the awkward silence takes over?

Activities in Fort Collins Homecoming weekend

  • I don't recommend this one, but maybe your family is into this kind of stuff. It's called the Homecoming 5K, and it starts at 8:00 a.m....The race begins at the Oval and ends at the Waffle House. But that's only if you follow me. Also, this race is safe for all ages, so no one gets out of it.
  • Ram Walk Tailgate: This funtastic event runs from noon to 3:30 and is free. Enjoy live music and tons of food options, and you may even see the CSU marching band. Parents, have your flip phones ready for some super cool pics. And students, make sure you chug a can of beer as soon as you wake up. I have no idea why, but it will help your hangover... because... the marching band.
  • The big game kicks off at 4:00, but get there early because of slow walkers and folks who can't even remember to walk. They'll slow you down every time.

Hopefully this list will not only help fill the awkward silences but also give you something to change the subject to when you have to hear about your daughter's boyfriend and his dream of becoming a rapper.

Schedule out the awkwardness of life.
