Denver Metro Fuel Contamination Alert: What Drivers Need to Know

Last week, we shared with you that an unknown number of drivers in Colorado went to fill up their vehicles with regular unleaded fuel but received fuel that was contaminated with diesel.

Reports confirmed that it originated from the HF Sinclair terminal in Henderson and was distributed to gas stations between 2:00 PM on. January 7th and 6:00 AM on January 8th.

The gas station franchise Sinclair confirmed that the contaminated fuel came from the terminal in Adams County, according to recent reports.

Now, we're learning that it wasn't just the Denver area that is dealing with this safety concern.

Northern Colorado Gas Stations Also Receive Contaminated Fuel

 

Several gas stations throughout Northern Colorado have reportedly received contaminated fuel, according to officials.

Confirmed locations include:

  • Safeway – 2160 W. Drake Road, Fort Collins

  • Costco – Timnath

Other affected stations:

  • King Sooper’s – Longmont

  • Safeway – Firestone
