Colorado’s Strangest Roadside Attractions

Everything now is so expensive. Especially gas. Maybe this summer you haven't been able to take your annual family road trip.

Don't fret because there are some pretty cool roadside attractions you just have to visit, and you won't even have to cross state lines.

Let's take a look at some of the coolest roadside attractions your family will love.

UFO Watchtower

Located at a campground in Colorado's San Luis Valley, not only can you and your family search the skies for extra terrestrials, but you can also explore all of the strange oddities on site.

This location became such a hot spot for UFO sightings that the land owner decided to turn it into a campground, and people travel from all over the country to stay in hopes of seeing something bizarre.

Breckenridge

The Isak Heartstone wooden sculpture is definitely on my bucket list. Every time someone posts pictures of the troll visiting, I get very jealous because the troll is so cute.

Created by Danish artist Thomas Dambo. Built completely from locally sourced wood and standing fifteen feet tall, it's apparently a sight to be seen. It's also located off a short hiking trail that anyone can walk.

Canos Castle

A one-of-a-kind folk art landmark in Antonito, Colorado, is ready to be seen by my kind of attraction. An entire castle made out of beer cans and scrap metal.

Canos Castle began its creation way back in the 1980s and has since grown inside. It's literally the size of a castle.

So pack up the car and take the family to see a giant troll, UFOs, or a castle made of cans. Northern Colorado is great, but a house made of beer cans is... even greater.
