An adorable rescue is going viral in Colorado and across the country. A homeowner was shocked when they noticed a family of raccoons inside of their wood-burning stove.

Jefferson County Raccoon Rescue Goes Viral Across Colorado

The homeowner did the right thing and immediately contacted the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office. According to KDVR, when the officers arrived the mama raccoon got scared and ran up the chimney. She was later found on the roof.

Jefferson County Animal Control Saves Baby Raccoons

Jefferson County Sheriff's Animal Control officers then safely captured the four baby raccoons that the mother raccoon left behind.

The officers then put the four babies in a bush. KDVR does say that the babies were safely reunited with their startled mother.

Raccoon Family Reunited Safely in Jefferson County

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office shared the video on social media. There were plenty of comments praising the happy ending. One commenter even went ahead and named the adorable raccoons Smoky, Cinders, and Ash.
