Colorado Driver Gets Arrested After Asking Police for Directions

One person's food delivery surely isn't going to be delivered after the driver got arrested when they asked police for directions. As it turns out, it's not a great idea to ask police officers to assist you in finding your way to your delivery when you are driving a stolen vehicle and have an active warrant out for your arrest.

The incident took place in Boulder, Colorado, after a delivery driver called out to an unmarked police car to ask for directions. Turns out that the officers were following the vehicle after spotting the stolen car using the FLOCK camera system.

Boulder Police officers took both the driver and passenger into custody. The woman in the car had two prior convictions for motor vehicle theft and had an active warrant for drug trafficking in New Mexico. She was also found in possession of .29 grams of methamphetamines and .49 grams of M30 blue pills containing fentanyl.

The man in the vehicle also had methamphetamines and was charged with motor vehicle theft, possession of drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Upon searching the stolen vehicle, officers found a fake BB gun that had been modified to appear real and a large knife next to the driver's seat.

Both suspects that were detained from the stolen vehicle were arrested and booked into the Boulder County Sheriff's Jail. The moral of the story is, that it is always okay to ask police for help when in need of directions. However, it is probably not a good idea to do so when you are driving a stolen vehicle.
