A New Twist in the Casa Bonita Drama In Denver

A development has been made in the ongoing Casa Bonita drama.

Located in Denver, Casa Bonita is a Mexican restaurant based off of a joke restaurant  in the hit animated show 'South Park.'

"It's like the Disneyland of Mexican restaurants..."

Over the years, Casa Bonita has become a massive tourist draw thanks to this show.

Brooke Shields Calls Out Casa Bonita Owners Over Union Dispute

Last week, actress and President of Actors' Equity Association, Brooke Shields called out the show creators and restaurant owners Trey Parker and Matt Stone.

This is the very same union that actually represents the performers at Casa Bonita.

Casa Bonita Performers Officially Go on Strike in Denver

Actors' Equity has been in bargaining to get the Casa Bonita actors their very first union contract for "quite a while now," according to Shields.

On October 29th, 2025 news broke that the performers have officially gone on strike.

Union Says Casa Bonita’s Latest Offer Was “Unfair”

"Casa management came to the table today offering an additional 11 cents over their last unfair wage offer, and very little for future layoff protections," said lead negotiator Andrea Hoeschen, assistant executive director and general counsel for Actors' Equity Association.

 "Despite that insult, the negotiating team responded with major compromises to try to get a deal.

And then Casa Bonita walked away from the table without responding."

Casa Bonita Strike Dates: When and Where to Support Performers

The striking performers will be picketing the restaurant on October 30th & 31st and on November 1st. Their social media post says that they encourage supporters to join them on the picket line.

"We know they can pay the wages we're asking for because they already pay basically the same wages to the servers and bartenders. Their insistence on paying DOLLARS an hour less to the performers reflects a choice and a philosophy to devalue performers," Hoeschen said.
