It seems like most people have a poor opinion of roundabouts,  Now, Denver's Fire Department is looking to put a stop to them, since they're causing accidents.

Sure, the whole idea is to slow traffic down, and make things smoother for bikes and cars; the road to [heck] as they say, is paved with good intentions. Those good intentions aren't exactly panning out like they'd hoped.

The way that more and more roundabouts have been getting installed across Colorado in the last few years, you'd think the state had invented them itself. They seem to be everywhere. How many do you go through on your way to work/home each day?

WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH DENVER COLORADO'S ROUNDABOUTS?

According to the Denver Gazette, Denver's Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has installed some new "bikeway" roundabouts/traffic circles in a historic part of the city, where the streets are narrow.

With the narrow streets, these 'bikeway' roundabouts have been causing accidents, as well as making it very difficult for emergency vehicles to transverse the circles, adding to the time it takes to respond to a call.

ARE THEY GOING TO STOP INSTALLING THESE ROUNDABOUTS IN DENVER?

According to the Denver Gazette, though the Denver Fire Department has said there is a moratorium on these roundabouts, the Denver Department of Transportation and Infrastructure has no plans to hold off on them, but they will be working on making them better.

Good Luck, Denver. To the cyclists, the cars, the emergency vehicles. Good Luck.
