We are lucky to live in Montrose! Not only is the town a great place to live, work and play, but it's also only a short drive to all kinds of things and places that make for great day trips.

My husband and I always make Saturday our day trip day. I've compiled a list of places to go that are within an hour and a half of Montrose that I've visited. Some are a little more, some a little less. In just an hour and a half we can be in Crested Butte. We love the downtown for browsing shops, breweries, and restaurants!

If you want to go a slightly shorter distance, we just head to Gunnison. It only takes slightly over an hour to get to the home of Western State and it always is lots of fun for us!

At least once a month we head to Grand Junction. It's just over an hour to get there and we love to visit Downtown for the restaurants and breweries and to do some fun shopping. Sometimes we will take the long way and go over the Grand Mesa on the way home. Don't forget the Colorado National Monument, so breath taking.

If it's the southerly drive we've decided on, there's Ridgway, Ouray, Telluride and Silverton. We've visited these places so many times, but still have new discoveries that surprise and delight us. Don't get me started on Durango. only 2.5 hours from Montrose.

There are so many great places to visit on the Western Slope, and if you leave Montrose you'll be there in just a while! If I've missed any spots to see, please let me know. Happy travels!
